Volunteer
At the YMCA, a volunteer's time and talent can go a long way to help a child, mentor a teen or provide support for families. Volunteers come from all walks of life but they share a common trait- wanting to help others. Examples of volunteer opportunities include:
- Assist with the maintenance/cleaning
- Coordinate a group project
- Coach/Referee youth sports
- Work with young children (reading stories, arts & crafts, teaching dance, mentoring, etc)
For more information on how you can become a volunteer, contact Angelic Graves at 773.285.0200.
Donate
The Wabash YMCA, an affiliate of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We rely on charitable giving to meet the evolving needs of individuals and families and to extend and deepen our reach into our community. Individual, corporate, and foundation donations allow us: to offer financial assistance/IBRS to individuals and families who cannot otherwise afford to join the local YMCA; to give scholarships to youth at our day, resident, specialty, and medical camps; and to provide a broad array of social services and leadership development programs to children, youth, adults, seniors, and families. For more information, please contact Cherita Ellens, Executive Director, at 773.326.2543.
