Austin YMCA Housing
Austin YMCA provides safe, affordable housing and includes wrap-around social services for extremely low-income or formerly homeless men and women.
Services
- Medical Care – Free medical care available at the Denny Clinic at Lawson House YMCA, an affiliate of Northwestern Memorial Hospital
- Job Training – Access to vocational training, GED preparation programs and job placement assistance
- Life Development Center - Case Management providing mental health, food, shelter, and clothing assistance
Housing
We offer furnished private rooms with community baths. Every room comes with a twin bed, desk, chair and ceiling fan. Other features include:

- Free YMCA membership
- Refrigerator and microwave (additional fee)
Both market-rate and subsidized rooms are available. Subsidized rental assistance is available through the Low Income Housing Trust Fund and the McKinney Grant program for those who meet federal guidelines for homelessness.
Market-rate rooms vary in size and cost.
$340 - Basic Room
$355 - Room includeds regrigator and microwave
All rooms require a 6-month to one-year lease, which can be terminated with 30 days notice. No security deposit required. Transient or short-term housing is not available at this location.
How to Apply for Housing
Applicants must apply in person at Austin YMCA, 501 N. Central Avenue. Application hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
